today's outfit / @ THE BALLET

Today I took my dear friend's 6 year old daughter to see the ballet performance of Vivaldi's Four Seasons at the National Ballet of Canada.  I thought I would dress up for her.  Like me, she loves tutu's.  The performance was breath-taking.

1- Tulle tutu, BROSE (FW13)
2- Sparkly suede desert booties, LES BALLERINES PARIS
3- White leotards, SPANX
4- Eye glasses, DOLCE & GABBANA
5- Flapper wrist purse, VINTAGE
6- Embroidered peep hole sweater, BROSE (FW13)

... It turned out to be too baby, so I ended up wearing the look in black + white.

WEDDING / dress ideas: baby got back

Wedding dress design fatigue has definitely set in.  So I decided to focus on the back details today.
Help.  Me.  Choose.

today's look / WINTER PASTELS

So what if it is -4C outside?  I feel like wearing pastels today!

1-  Curly wool coat, BROSE (FW13)
2- Nude ballerinas, LUCKY BRAND
3- Googly-eye ball, COLETTE
4- Mini dot blouse, BROSE (FW13)
5- Skinny chain ring, AVENTURE PARIS

OBSESSED / googly-eye ball from COLETTE

I bought this as an impulse buy when I was at Colette last week.  It's a rubber bouncy ball with a googly-eye & sparkles that float in water that's inside it.  I wish I could capture the effects when it bounces on camera - the eye-ball goes neon in a rainbow of colors.

PARIS / Le Castiglione

Le Castiglione is hardly a 'new find' - it's one of my Paris staples, especially during fashion week.  Because you are guaranteed to run into the who's who of the fashion scene.  Located ever so conveniently between Place Vendôme and Colette, it's no wonder that the weary and weathered stop in for a minute of reprise and stellar people-watching.  Just last night I ran into: Stephanie Solomon, Fashion Director at Bloomingdale's; Martin McCarthy, Chief Development Officer at the House of Worth; Michel, one of the managers at Hôtel Costes; and this cute jewelry designer from Seattle, Rebecca Calen, who was showing in Paris for the first time.  Her starry eyes sure brought back memeories (okay, so I only just started showing here a couple of years ago - you got me).

PARIS apartment / Rue St Honoré

Bonjour from Paris.  I just checked into my rental this morning, what a treat.  Not only is the location killer - literally next door to the Balenciaga flagship store, and a stone's throw from Costes - this swanky pad has thought of everything: Nespresso cappuccino maker / mini dish washer / a floating bathroom that doubles as a central table / a shower for two / hidden light switches / surround-sound / music in the potty room.  I feel like I am in some kind of futuristic bubble in the middle of fashion week. Oh and it turns out that the owner is Jean-Claude Jitrois.
