NAIROBI / The Giraffe Manor

Home to a herd of the endangered Rothschild giraffe, the Giraffe Manor is one of Nairobi's "must-see" landmarks.  Set in 12 acres of private land within 140 acres of indigenous forest, the Manor's distinct 1930's architecture provides a cozy yet unusual backdrop for what is essentially a giraffe sanctuary.

The founder conservationist, Betty Leslie-Melville, often called the “Giraffe Lady,” spent much of her time protecting the endangered Rothschild giraffe population.  Her legacy has become an unforgettable vacation destination where you can feed giraffe's from your bedroom window while gazing across the Nairobi countryside.
